| How Do You Live Your Dash? I saw a man who stood to speak At the Funeral of a friend, He referred to the dates on his tombstone, From the Beginning to the end. He noted that first came his date of birth And spoke the last date with tears, But said what mattered most of all, Was the Dash between those years. For that dash represented all the time That he spent alive on Earth, And now only those who loved him, Know what that little Dash was worth. For it matters not how much we own; The cars, the house, the cash, What matters is how we lived and loved And how we spent our Dash. So think about this long and hard… Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what’s true and real, And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger And show appreciation more, And love the people in our lives, Like we’ve never done before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile, Remembering that this Special Dash, Might only last a little while. So when your Eulogy’s being read With your life’s actions to rehash, Would the Lord approve of what they said, About how you lived YOU’RE DASH? |
| You are How You are for a Reason You are who you are for reason. Your part of an intricate plan. Your a precious and perfect and a unique design. You are one of God's special kids. You look like you and Look for a reason. God made no mistakes. He knit you together within the womb. Your just what he wanted to make. The parents you had were the ones he chose, and no matter how you feel, they were custom-designed with Gods' plan in mind. And bear the master's seal. No, that trauma you faced was not right. And God wept that it hurt you so; but it was allowed to shape your heart so that into his likeness you'd grow. You are who you are for a reason, you've been formed by the master's hand. Your are who you are, my beloved because there is a God. |
